Upgrading a major software package such as Informatica is a significant challenge which requires a solid methodology and careful planning. This workshop will prepare you for that challenge by teaching you Informatica’s proven methodology for a successful upgrade.

In this one day workshop you will learn about the new Informatica 9.x architecture as it relates to PowerCenter, only. Some key PowerCenter New Features, including enhancements to transformation objects, are described. The PowerCenter upgrade process from version 8.1.x and 8.5/8.6 to PowerCenter 9.0.1 is explained. Post-upgrade tasks such as re-establishing environment variables and disabling automatic PowerCenter 8.x startup are also discussed.
Publikum

This workshop is designed for PowerCenter administrators or developers with significant experience using PowerCenter 6, 7, 8.x or 9.0 versions. You should also be familiar with basic database and data integration terminology and comfortable with the use of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Forkunnskaper

Six months or more PowerCenter 8.x Administration and/or development experience

PowerCenter 8.x Level 1 Administrator class.
Experience with database and database concepts are recommended.

Innhold

This workshop describes what’s new in the Informatica 9 platform and PowerCenter 9.0 and 9.0.1. The new PowerCenter architecture will be described. The labs will guide students through preparing the chosen implementation for upgrade, installing PowerCenter9.x, upgrading the environment and performing post-upgrade tasks.
